donations
Where possible, we use good quality second-hand items. This not only saves money but also avoids items going to a landfill and helps the environment. We are very grateful for all the goods supplied by the churches and public so far, we would like to thank you for your generosity and support. However, we still need more items. See 'CONTENTS' for items needed.
We do like to recycle as much as possible but we cannot recycle unfit items; please take these to Bromley waste sites. For health and safety reasons, we cannot accept used items such as duvets, pillow and cleaning cloths. We can accept containers of toiletries if the seal is unbroken.
We do accept the following items in good condition:-
Crockery in good condition with no cracks or chips, but no glasses.
Fabrics, bed linen, towels, tea towels, they must be clean with life in them and with no holes, stains, tears or frayed.
We do accept cutlery and pots and pans that are fit for use and clean and not greasy.
The benchmark are:- Does the item have enough life in it for reuse? How would you feel if given it?
Collection point for donation of goods is at St Peter and St Paul Church, Church Road, Bromley, Kent, BR2 0EG between 10am and noon on the first Saturday of every month. Other times by arrangement.
Financial contributions
For health and safety reasons we give new kettles, duvet and pillows. We also need to buy cleaning materials and toiletries; to buy these we need financial donations, which can be made by bank transfer, cheque (made out to Bromley Starter Pack), or cash at the Bromley Parish Church offices or by mail with a note that these are intended for the starter pack scheme.
Our bank account is:- Bromley Starter Pack, Sort code 23-05-80, Account number 18018365.
If you are paying UK tax, then please consider Gift Aid which will increase the value of your contribution by 25%. This applies if you pay UK tax that at least equals the tax that may be reclaimed on your donation in this tax year. Download a Gift Aid Form here.
