Bromley Homeless Starter Packs Annual Report 2024 Summary
Bromley Homeless Starter Packs is a charity operated by Bromley Parish Church. It provides items such as pots and pans, bedding and more to formerly homeless people; see the contents list later. There has been little change in the number of packs donated this year, 226 in 2024 vs 228 in 2023. Once again, the largest referrer by far was Bromley Council, requesting 74% of all packs. Each pack costs around £100. In 2019 (pre-pandemic), only 133 packs were donated compared with 226 in 2024. This level of demand is unsustainable both in practical terms and financial for a church to manage, especially as demand is likely to increase due to anticipated cutbacks in Bromley Council’s Welfare Fund.
